Without SNMP traps, SmartOLT reads the ONU statuses from the OLT about every 7 minutes, so a change can take minutes to appear. With traps, the OLT reports each change at once. The ONU statuses, the dashboard and the outage alerts then update within seconds.
What it does
- Enable the traps from the OLT page.
- Send a test trap and check that it arrives.
- See in the OLT list which OLTs send traps.
- Get ONU Ethernet loop and rogue ONU events, which only traps report.
- Run a diagnosis when the traps do not arrive.
